Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Morecambe. This role involves working on a 1:2:1 basis with a child in reception. The position is ideal for someone who is familiar with Makaton or is willing to undertake training before September 2026. This is a morning-only role with the potential to increase hours based on the pupil's requirements.

Day-to-day of the role:

Work closely with a reception-aged child on a 1:2:1 basis, focusing on their educational and developmental needs.
Implement learning activities and support mechanisms under the guidance of the lead teacher.
Use Makaton to communicate effectively with the child, enhancing their learning experience.
Monitor the childs progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
Adapt to the child's educational and emotional needs, ensuring a supportive learning environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience as a Teaching Assistant or a similar role in an educational setting is preferred.
Knowledge of Makaton or willingness to undergo training before the start date.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to the full academic year with a start date of 1st September 2026.
