Part-Time Cook – Nursing Home (St Gregory's House Ltd)
We are looking for a caring and passionate Cook to join our friendly team at a well-established nursing home supporting 28 residents.
This is a part-time position working 2 days per week, ideal for someone who enjoys preparing fresh, homemade meals and understands the importance of good food for the older generation.
About the Role
You will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals using fresh local ingredients. Our residents enjoy traditional favourites and comforting classic dishes, so we are looking for someone who takes pride in creating quality meals with warmth and care.
We are also looking for someone who enjoys home baking and can prepare fresh cakes, scones, pastries, and traditional desserts that our residents will love.
Duties Include
- Preparing and cooking fresh daily meals
- Catering for individual dietary requirements
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
- Managing kitchen stock and supplies
- Creating traditional, wholesome menus our residents will enjoy
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in cooking fresh homemade food
- A good understanding of nutrition for older people
- Friendly, reliable, and organised
- Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Someone who enjoys making a positive difference through good food
