THE ROLE
The Logistics Administrator plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the logistics function, ensuring the smooth coordination of shipments, documentation, and communication with hauliers and internal teams. The role involves processing export documentation, responding to queries, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with transport tracking and compliance. Acting as a central point of contact for logistics queries at key times, the postholder will help ensure that goods are dispatched efficiently, issues are resolved promptly, and customer expectations are met.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver general administrative support across the logistics department as required
- Liaise with hauliers and freight forwarders, customers and internal teams to support daily transport operations
- Process export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and DGNs
- Respond to incoming calls and emails, ensuring all queries are handled efficiently and to a high standard of customer service
- Investigate and process claims relating to lost or damaged consignments
- Maintain the transport tracking spreadsheet by logging transport and invoice details
- Support customs and import compliance by ensuring all required documentation is obtained and filed
- Act as the main point of contact for the transport function in the absence of the Logistics Manager (e.g. Fridays, annual leave or other periods of absence), managing day-to-day transport queries and liaising with hauliers, customers and internal teams to ensure continuity of operations
LEVEL OF QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar logistics or administration role
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, and experience using an ERP system

- Proactive problem-solving mindset
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with internal teams, customers and external partners
