Join our dynamic team as a aggregate weighbridge operator, where you'll be the vital link managing site vehicle traffic, accurately recording material weight, and handling front-line site administration. Key responsibilities include weighing incoming and outgoing aggregate lorries, issuing weighbridge tickets, and enforcing site safety rules.
Core Responsibilities
- Vehicle & Load Management: Weighing trucks on arrival and departure, calculating net weights, checking material types against site permits, and directing drivers to correct tip or load arreas.
- Data & Administration: Logging details into computer databases, generating tickets/reports, answering phone calls, and managing purchase orders.
- Site Safety & Compliance: Conducting visitor/driver safety inductions and checking PPE (e.g., high-vis, safety boots).
- Customer Service: Welcoming drivers and contractors while resolving routine transport or queue issues.
Requirements and Skills
- IT Competency: Strong data entry accuracy and familiarity with MS Office or bespoke weighbridge software.
- Communication: Clear verbal and interpersonal skills to guide heavy goods vehicle (HGV) drivers and coordinate with managers.
- Attention to Detail: High precision in recording weights to prevent legal and financial discrepancies.
