Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Civil Construction Labourer to join our team on various construction projects. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of civil engineering tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency on site. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within the construction industry and contributing to large-scale infrastructure projects. The role is paid and suitable for those eager to gain practical experience in civil construction.

Duties

Assisting with site preparation, including clearing and organising materials
Loading and unloading construction materials and equipment
Assisting with excavation, trenching, and groundwork activities under supervision
Supporting the installation of infrastructure elements such as drainage, kerbs, and pavements
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
Operating basic hand tools and machinery as required (training provided)
Assisting skilled tradespeople with their tasks as needed
Ensuring all work complies with project specifications and safety standards

Requirements

Prior experience in construction or civil engineering is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key
Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour throughout the day
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong team player with good communication skills
Basic understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
Relevant certifications such as CSCS card are desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided for suitable candidates
Must be reliable, punctual, organised, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment

Pay: £12.21-£21.99 per hour
