PPC Specialist – Digital Agency
Part-Time Opportunity – 3–4 Days per Week
Remote, UK-based role | Oxfordshire-based team with quarterly in-person meet-ups
£35,000–£45,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata, depending on experience
About Urban Element
Urban Element is a digital marketing agency helping ambitious construction, manufacturing, engineering and logistics businesses become more visible, credible and competitive online.
We are unapologetically commercial in our approach. Our clients invest in digital marketing to generate measurable business results, and we believe their campaigns should be managed with that objective firmly in mind.
We are now looking for an experienced PPC Specialist to strengthen our paid search capability and help us continue bringing more specialist expertise in-house.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on PPC role for someone with experience managing multiple client accounts within a digital agency or similarly fast-paced consultancy environment.
You will take ownership of a portfolio of paid search campaigns, working closely with our Account Manager, SEO team, developers and wider marketing team.
You will be responsible for more than maintaining campaigns. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities, challenge underperformance and continually improve the commercial return clients receive from their investment.
This is a specialist paid search role rather than a broad digital marketing position.
What You’ll Be Doing
PPC Strategy and Campaign Management
- Developing and delivering paid search strategies aligned with clients’ commercial objectives
- Managing and optimising Google Ads Search campaigns
- Building, managing and improving Google Shopping and Performance Max campaigns where appropriate
- Managing Microsoft Advertising campaigns
- Conducting keyword research, competitor analysis and search-term reviews
- Writing and testing effective advertising copy
- Developing remarketing and audience strategies
- Managing campaign budgets and pacing spend appropriately
- Identifying opportunities to improve account structure, targeting and conversion performance
Performance and Commercial Insight
- Monitoring and improving CPC, CPA, conversion rate, ROAS and lead quality
- Looking beyond surface-level conversion numbers to understand whether campaigns are generating the right enquiries and sales
- Using GA4, CRM information and campaign data to assess commercial performance
- Producing clear recommendations based on performance data
- Identifying opportunities to scale activity where the results justify further investment
- Contributing meaningful insights to client reports and review meetings
Tracking and Measurement
- Reviewing and improving conversion tracking
- Working confidently with GA4 and Google Tag Manager
- Identifying tracking issues and working with our development team to resolve them
- Ensuring campaign decisions are based on reliable and commercially relevant data
Client and Team Collaboration
- Managing multiple client accounts and priorities effectively
- Explaining performance, recommendations and challenges in clear, straightforward language
- Working collaboratively with Account Management, SEO, content, social media and development colleagues
- Sharing knowledge and contributing to the continued development of our paid search service
- Taking ownership of agreed actions and following them through
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- At least three years’ hands-on PPC experience
- Experience managing multiple client accounts within a digital agency or comparable consultancy environment
- Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, particularly Search campaigns
- Demonstrable experience improving campaign performance rather than simply maintaining accounts
- Experience using GA4 and Google Tag Manager
- Experience analysing campaign data and translating it into clear actions
- Confidence managing budgets and working towards commercial KPIs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly Desirable
- Google Shopping and Merchant Centre experience
- Performance Max experience
- Microsoft Advertising experience
- Experience with B2B lead-generation campaigns
- Experience working with construction, manufacturing, engineering, logistics or other considered-purchase sectors
- Exposure to landing-page optimisation and CRO
- Experience presenting campaign performance directly to clients
The Person We’re Looking For
You are likely to be someone who:
- Enjoys getting into the detail of campaign performance
- Understands that clicks and traffic are not the end goal
- Thinks commercially and considers lead quality, sales and ROI
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be directed
- Is comfortable challenging an existing approach when the evidence supports it
- Communicates proactively when something is not working
- Can balance attention to detail with the wider commercial picture
- Enjoys working as part of a small, supportive and accountable agency team
How We Work
We are a remote-first team with a strong culture of trust, accountability and flexibility.
Our team members are expected to:
- Take ownership and follow through on commitments
- Communicate clearly and proactively
- Align their work with clients’ wider objectives
- Raise problems early and suggest solutions
- Contribute positively to the wider team
Although the role is remote, applicants must be UK-based and able to attend quarterly team meet-ups in Oxfordshire.
What You’ll Receive
- Flexible part-time working of three to four days per week
- 33 days’ holiday full-time equivalent, including bank holidays
- Employer pension contribution matched up to 5%
- Remote working with quarterly in-person team sessions
- A supportive and down-to-earth working environment
- The opportunity to shape and improve our paid search service
- Exposure to commercial strategy rather than campaign delivery in isolation
- Ongoing professional development
- The opportunity to make a visible difference within a growing independent agency

We are looking for a PPC specialist who takes pride in their work, is accountable for performance and wants to help clients generate meaningful commercial results.
When applying, please include examples of PPC campaigns you have personally managed, the types of clients you have worked with and the measurable improvements you helped achieve.
