Summary
We are looking for a skilled SMT Operator to join our Production team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating surface mount technology (SMT) equipment including pick and place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens to support high-quality PCB assembly.
Multiple roles which will cover a range of shifts:-
Early: Mon to Thurs – 0600 to 1400, Fri – 0600 to 1130
Day: Mon to Thurs – 0800 to 1600, Fri – 0800 to 1330
Late: Mon to Thurs – 1345 to 2145, Fri – 1115 to 1645 (20% shift allowance)
Responsibilities
- Set up and run SMT machines (pick & place, screen printers, reflow ovens)
- Participate in daily team briefings and follow production schedules
- Work from assembly drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Identify component types and board defects
- Ensure work meets IPC-A-610 standards and quality requirements
- Follow ESD and health & safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement and assist other teams when required
Skills & Experience
- Essential:
- Experience in SMT/PCB assembly or similar environment
- Knowledge of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, ICs)
- Ability to follow technical drawings and instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Good computer literacy
Desirable:
- Experience with Juki and DEK machines
- Fine pitch / BGA experience
- Understanding of IPC-A-610 standards
- Soldering and rework experience
