Exterior Cleaning Operative — Window Cleaning Team
BPS Group | Full-Time | £33,280 per annum (fully trained rate)
BPS Group is growing, and we're looking for reliable, hard-working people to join our window cleaning teams. If you'd rather be outdoors than behind a desk, and enjoy a job where no two days look the same, this could be the role for you.
About Us
We're an exterior cleaning and maintenance company working across domestic and commercial sites. Our services cover window cleaning, gutter clearance, solar panel cleaning, pressure washing, roof moss removal, soft washing and more — giving our teams genuine variety in the work they do and the places they visit.
About the Role
As part of our window cleaning team, you'll be out on the road every day, working across a mix of domestic and commercial customers. You'll need to be comfortable working outdoors in all weathers, happy working independently or as part of a team, and ready to turn your hand to a range of exterior cleaning tasks.
What You'll Do
- Carry out commercial and domestic window cleaning
- Clean fascias and soffits, and carry out gutter clearance
- Deliver other exterior and interior cleaning services as required — pressure washing, soft washing, roof moss removal, solar panel cleaning
- Occasionally assist with minor repair work linked to the wider business
- Travel between sites, working both independently and as part of a close-knit team
What We're Looking For
Required
- A full UK manual driving licence
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weathers, with a change of scenery every day
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to occasionally work away from home when required (paid at overtime rates, with accommodation and subsistence covered)
Preferred
- Previous experience in window cleaning, exterior cleaning, or a similar outdoor or trades-based role is helpful but not essential
Pay, Hours & Benefits
This is a full-time position based on a 4-weekly average of 40 hours per week — some weeks will be longer, some shorter — with overtime available (though optional) subject to business needs.
Pay during your probation period reflects the skills you're demonstrating as you train. Once fully trained — typically achievable within 3 to 6 months for a quick learner producing consistently high-quality, efficient work — the rate rises to £33,280 per annum.
Our exterior cleaning teams typically work a five-day week, Monday to Friday, around 8 hours a day, starting between 7:00–7:30am and finishing between 3:00–4:00pm. Occasionally we'll flex start and finish times to suit certain customers; where this means extended hours, you'll either be paid overtime or given a shorter day later in the week to balance things out.
There may also be occasional opportunities to work away — usually once or twice a month during busy periods, and less often during quieter months — paid at overtime rates with accommodation and subsistence fully covered.
