Full job description

Part‑time for this role is 20 hours per week (40‑hour FTE). The part‑time salary for 20 hours is £17,500 (£35,200 FTE)

Job Role: Overview

We are looking for a passionate and proactive fundraiser to help grow income, strengthen supporter relationships, and increase awareness of Stokenchurch Dog Rescue.

The role combines fundraising, digital communications, community engagement, donor stewardship, and event management, helping to create sustainable income and long-term support for the dogs in our care.

Main responsibilites include:

Fundraising & Donor Development

Develop and grow recurring income through:

Monthly giving
Sponsor a Dog schemes
Donor journeys and retention
Community and digital fundraising campaigns

Manage and develop fundraising activity across:

Facebook and Instagram
JustGiving and Crowdfunder
Email campaigns and newsletters
Seasonal and emergency appeals
In-house systems including Patch

Supporter & Community Engagement

Build strong relationships with:

Supporters and donors
Volunteers
Local businesses and community groups

Coordinate fundraising and community events including:

Planning and organisation
Site set-up and clear down
Volunteer and vendor coordination
Event problem-solving and delivery

Content & Communications

Work closely with the SDR team to create engaging:

Rescue and rehoming stories
Social media content
Photos, video, and Reels
Donor and supporter communications

Reporting & Administration

Monitor campaign performance and engagement
Produce monthly fundraising reports and KPI updates
Ensure fundraising income and expenditure is accurately recorded
Maintain records in line with SDR procedures

Compliance & Operational Duties

Prepare Risk Assessments where required
Follow SDR policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, safeguarding, insurance, and legal requirements
Represent SDR professionally within the community

Special Requirements:

1. Must be comfortable with dogs and cats in the workplace/office. It will not be possible to accommodate the role holder bringing their pets to work

2. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK

3. Current valid full UK driving licence. SDR is not serviced by an extensive public transport service and for the full service of the role you must hold a Full Driving Licence, can travel and have use of your own vehicle

4. Willingness to be flexible, manage own workload and prioritise effectively. Will be required to work outside the standard 9-5 pm pattern.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION (all criteria are essential unless otherwise indicated)
We expect candidates to evidence these skills through clear, relevant examples that demonstrate how they have applied them effectively in previous roles.

Essential

Social media and digital fundraising experience
Copywriting and supporter communications
Relationship building and community engagement
Canva or similar design tools
Basic campaign reporting and analytics
Video/Reels/TikTok familiarity
Strong organisation and communication skills

Desirable

Charity fundraising experience
CRM/database experience
Event management experience
Passion for animal welfare

Fundraising Objectives

Year 1 target: influence £40k–£60k additional income through:

Monthly giving growth
Digital fundraising campaigns
Community fundraising
Improved donor retention

Success will also be measured through:

New supporters and donors
Email list growth
Social engagement
Campaign profitability and performance

Pay: £17,600.00 per year
