Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing compassionate care and support to children within a therputic residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to create a nurturing environment that promotes positive growth and stability.

Responsibilities

Offer emotional and practical support to children in residential care, fostering a safe and caring environment
Assist children with daily routines, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities
Implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs
Support children's educational engagement and social development through organised activities and outings
Maintain accurate records of daily observations, incidents, and progress reports
Collaborate with colleagues, social workers, and families to ensure consistent care delivery
Drive children safely to appointments or activities as required, maintaining compliance with road safety regulations
Promote positive behaviour management strategies in line with organisational policies

Requirements

Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Valid driving licence and the ability to drive safely are essential for transporting children when necessary
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting children's development and wellbeing
Good organisational skills to manage care plans and maintain accurate documentation
Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required by the organisation's rota system

Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
