Full job description

This is a VOLUNTEER position.

Is this for you?
Are you passionate about enabling others to have an impact in their community? Are you able to lead the delivery of volunteer support services? Do you want to ensure your local St John Network enables volunteers to deliver community activity? If this sounds like you, then you could be the next Network Volunteering Services Lead for your local St John Network.

Duties

Lead and oversee all volunteering support service activities within the network, ensuring alignment with national and local initiatives/strategies.
Support other volunteers within your network in managing their data and training compliance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidance and policy.
Plan and deliver recruitment drives in line with the needs of your network and your local communities.
Ensure recruitment documentation validation checks are conducted for candidates being recruited into volunteer roles.
Oversee delivery of welfare, retention and recognition activities within your network.
Provide guidance and support to volunteers, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
Utilise autonomy to tailor support services within your network according to the specific needs of local volunteers, within national guidelines.
Empower the use of sustainable and ethical practices to support St John’s commitments to environmental and financial sustainability.
Join in with the Volunteering Services national community of practice to share best practices, advocate for volunteer interests and concerns, and lead on the communication and implementation of national initiatives.

You will need to have the following (personal specification)

Ability to lead small groups of people to deliver local network priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage stakeholders from other functional areas.
Data literacy skills, including the ability to interpret and effectively communicate with data
Time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
