Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Reporting to: Head of Finance
Responsible for: HR & Business Apprentice
Contract Term: Permanent, Part Time. To start as soon as possible.
Purpose of the Role:
The Human Resources Manager at Worcestershire County Cricket Club is responsible for the oversight of the entire HR function, looking after employee engagement, talent development, and compliance across the Club’s recruitment, training and wider community people initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
HR Management

Maintain and report on the Club’s People strategy which is aligned with the club’s goals.

Provide HR guidance to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team where needed.

Lead on all HR-related matters, ensuring best practices are followed across the club.

Line manage and mentor the HR & Business Apprentice.
HR Administration & Compliance

Manage all HR documentation, contracts, policies, and records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Maintain and update the Bright HR system and employee files.

Ensure compliance with UK employment law, safeguarding policies, GDPR, and regulatory requirements.

Manage all HR reporting, including absence, turnover, and compliance metrics.
Employee Relations & Engagement

Act as the first point of contact for employee relations, handling grievances, disciplinaries and performance management.

Act as advisor to senior managers on team development, staff EDI and wellbeing.

Drive initiatives to promote employee wellbeing, engagement, and job satisfaction.

Foster a culture of openness, collaboration and high performance.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Talent Management

Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring the club attracts and retains top talent.

Manage onboarding and induction processes to ensure new employees integrate smoothly.

Develop and implement succession planning to future-proof the club’s workforce.
Learning & Development

Identify training needs and implement development programs for staff and players.

Support managers in building leadership capabilities and developing their teams.

Champion EDI initiatives across the Club.
Performance & Reward

Coordinate the performance appraisal process to drive accountability and professional growth.

Oversee compensation, benefits administration and payroll coordination with the Finance team.

Implement and review reward and benefits that align with the club’s culture and values.

Requirements
Person Specification:
- Minimum of Level 5 CIPD qualified
- Proven experience in a stand-alone HR role or a senior HR generalist position.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practices and employee relations.
- Hands-on experience with HR administration, payroll coordination, and compliance.
- Ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
- Experience in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and systems.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work across all levels of the club.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Benefits
This is a part time role working 28 hours per week over 4 days. You may be required to work very occasional evenings and weekends during the Cricket season.
The salary for this role is £40,000 FTE (based on 35 hours).
