Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Therapist and Hygienist to join our dynamic friendly dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Dental Therapy and Hygiene practices and be committed to providing exceptional and highly skilled dental care to our patients.

As a Dental Therapist and Hygienist, you will utilise your full scope of practice,: range of clinical, restorative and preventive procedure to patients without direct supervision.

You will be able to utilise your skills mix and play a crucial role in providing Dental Examination, Mouth Cancer assessment, Restorative care, Gum care, promoting oral health and educating patients on proper dental hygiene techniques.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough dental examinations to assess patients' oral health.
Conduct mouth cancer assessment.
Highly skilled Restorative treatment
Carry out Gum assessment, Gum treatments and necessary review.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides to protect teeth.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain accurate patient records and document treatment plans in compliance with regulations.
Assist dentists during procedures by providing necessary support and ensuring patient comfort.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in dental therapy and hygiene techniques/technologies.

Requirements

Valid Dental Therapy and Hygiene licence or equivalent qualification.
Registration with the General Dental Council
Direct Access Experience
Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical imaging
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry standards.
