Full job description

We are looking for a Part Time Receptionist/Admin Assistant, 20 hours per week.

Ideally these would be spread over Monday, Tuesday and Friday although there may be flexibility for the right applicant. In return, we would require absolute flexibility to cover sickness and holiday.

We are a fully ambulatory, first opinion, equine practice based in Twigworth. Please note that this in an office based position. Although running errands (such as dropping kit to vets, or medication off to clients) may be involved, this is not an on the road/vet support role.

Duties to include (but not limited to):

Responding to client queries via telephone, email and WhatsApp.Booking appointments for clients.
Taking card payments over the 'phone.
Putting up medication as requested by vets.
Ordering medication and supplies.
Packing bloods/samples for lab submission.
General admin tasks as required by vets.
General house keeping office cleaning.

Although not essential, a basic knowledge of horses would be beneficial. Prior admin experience and computer literacy (including Microsoft office) is desirable. A full driving licence is essential, and for insurance purposes (to drive the company van) being over the age of 25 would be preferred.

We are a small, friendly, and somewhat quirky team. The successful candidate must be willing to fit in with us, so not taking yourself seriously and having a good sense of humour are a must. When the office opens each day we can never be sure how the day will turn out, so our new team member must be flexible and unflappable when the pressure is on. A compassionate and empathetic nature with the ability to support clients and team members when needed is key to this unique role.
