No Theatre Experience? No Problem – Full Training Provided

Are you passionate about patient care and looking to start or develop your career in healthcare?

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Theatre Assistant to join our busy Operating Theatre team. Whether you already have experience in a theatre environment or are looking to take your first step into healthcare, we'd love to hear from you.

We are committed to developing our people and are happy to consider candidates with little or no previous theatre experience. If you have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for supporting patients, we can provide the training and support you need to succeed in this rewarding role.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a key member of the theatre team, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include

Supporting Nurses and Consultants during surgical procedures.

Assisting Scrub Nurses within operating theatres.
Supporting patients within the anaesthetic room.
Safely transporting patients to and from theatre and wards.
Opening sterile packs and preparing equipment for procedures.
Preparing, checking and handling surgical instruments.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention and control.
Contributing to a safe, efficient and high-quality theatre environment.
Providing reassurance and support to patients throughout their theatre experience.

Essential

A genuine interest in healthcare and patient wellbeing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable

Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker or within a healthcare environment.
NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent.
Previous theatre experience (although full training will be provided).
