Pre-Pour Reinforcements Ltd is a rapidly growing reinforcement steel manufacturer supplying high-quality cut and bent reinforcement to construction projects across the UK.
As our business continues to expand, we're looking for an organised, proactive and motivated Transport & Operations Coordinator to join our Operations Team.
This is a varied coordination role supporting the day-to-day operation of our manufacturing facility. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Head of Production, you'll help coordinate transport, warehouse and production activities to ensure customer orders are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
We're looking for someone who has previous experience coordinating transport within a manufacturing or production environment and who understands how production, warehouse and transport functions work together. This experience is essential to be successful in the role.
This role supports the Operations Manager and Head of Production by coordinating operational activities and ensuring information flows effectively across departments.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support across transport, warehouse and production support activities.
You'll act as the communication link between Production, Warehouse, Procurement, Sales and Transport, ensuring customer orders move efficiently from production through to delivery. By maintaining accurate information, coordinating activities and communicating operational updates, you'll help ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransport Coordination
- Coordinate daily transport schedules and customer deliveries.
- Assist in planning efficient delivery routes and maximise vehicle utilisation.
- Liaise with drivers, customers and subcontract hauliers regarding deliveries and collections.
- Respond promptly to changes in customer requirements and operational priorities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate transport documentation.
- Communicate delivery instructions, customer requirements and site restrictions to drivers and subcontract hauliers.
- Coordinate transport requirements with agreed production schedules.
- Maintain accurate transport records and operational documentation.
Production Coordination
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Operations Manager and Head of Production.
- Issue production paperwork and distribute approved production schedules.
- Update operational systems and planning documentation following instruction from the Operations Manager or Head of Production.
- Monitor progress against agreed production schedules and communicate delays or operational issues.
- Liaise with Procurement and Warehouse regarding material availability.
- Maintain accurate production records and operational documentation.
- Communicate approved production schedule updates to relevant departments.
- Support the efficient flow of information between Production, Warehouse and Transport.
Warehouse & Operations Coordination
- Coordinate the administration of goods received and goods dispatched.
- Ensure delivery documentation accurately reflects goods dispatched.
- Support stock accuracy through stock movements, stock checks and system updates.
- Coordinate stock transfers and support stock control activities.
- Liaise with Procurement regarding material availability and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate warehouse and operational records.
- Support effective communication between Warehouse, Production and Transport to ensure customer orders progress efficiently.
Customer Service
- Provide customers with updates regarding delivery schedules and order progress.
- Respond promptly and professionally to transport and operational enquiries.
- Build positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and colleagues.
- Support the delivery of an excellent customer experience through effective communication and coordination.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience coordinating transport within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.
- Experience working with production schedules, warehouse operations and customer deliveries.
- Understanding of how customer orders move through production, warehouse and transport functions.
- Experience liaising with production teams, warehouse personnel, drivers, customers and suppliers.
- Experience working with production schedules or manufacturing planning systems.
- Strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Desirable
- Experience within reinforcement steel, steel processing, construction products or heavy manufacturing.
- Experience using operational planning systems.
- Knowledge of transport legislation.
- Experience of stock control and warehouse operations.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and operational workflows.
