The Mill at Rode is a premium country pub with a modern twist, offering quality food, expertly served drinks, beautiful riverside gardens and a welcoming atmosphere. We're looking for a passionate Bar Team Leader to help lead our front-of-house team and create memorable experiences for every guest.
About the Role
As Bar Team Leader, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the bar, supporting the management team, and motivating the team to deliver outstanding service every shift.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front and setting high standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the bar team during service.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Prepare and serve drinks to the highest standard.
- Ensure speed, quality and consistency of service.
- Support with opening and closing procedures.
- Cash handling and till management.
- Train and develop new team members.
- Maintain excellent cellar, bar and stock standards.
- Monitor stock levels and minimise wastage.
- Ensure all licensing, health & safety and food hygiene standards are met.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and confidently.
- Work closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure seamless service.
- Drive drink sales through product knowledge and confident recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a busy bar or premium hospitality venue.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- A genuine passion for hospitality.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Positive attitude with plenty of energy.
- Calm under pressure.
- High standards and great attention to detail.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Personal Licence holder desirable (not essential).
