Full job description

Job Purpose

To provide administrative support to the transport operation, ensuring the smooth and efficient planning, coordination and completion of daily deliveries. The role also includes supporting warehouse operations where required, including stock counts and some warehouse duties.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Administration

Support the daily transport operation and assist with route planning.
Maintain accurate transport records and filing systems.
Communicate with drivers regarding routes, delivery updates and operational issues.
Monitor vehicle documentation and any vehicle issues.
Input and maintain data on transport management systems.
Answer telephone and email enquiries from drivers and other departments.
Assist with investigating delivery discrepancies and customer queries.

Warehouse Support

Carry out regular stock counts and inventory checks to determine discrepancies.
Assist with loading, unloading and moving stock when required.
Work closely with warehouse staff to investigate discrepancies.

General Duties

Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety procedures.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude
Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the operation.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Full UK Driving Licence.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Good communication skills.
Competent using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word).
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to assist in both office and warehouse duties.

Desirable

Previous experience in transport or logistics administration.
Warehouse or stock control experience.
Knowledge of transport management systems.
Understanding of transport compliance and driver regulations.

Team player with a flexible approach.
Proactive and able to use initiative.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Able to prioritise workload effectively.

Working Conditions

Office-based with regular time spent in the warehouse.
Occasional manual handling may be required.
Flexibility to support operational requirements during busy periods.
