Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Supervisor for the Playmates After School Club. This role involves overseeing the daily activities of children, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for childcare, and the ability to communicate effectively in. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to children's development while working within a supportive team.

Duties

Lead and supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Organise and facilitate a variety of engaging activities, including educational games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play
Coordinate with parents and guardians regarding children's daily needs
Manage a team of assistant staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operation of the club
Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages children's social and emotional development
Assist in planning programme schedules that cater to diverse interests and age groups

Skills

Level 3 Playworker Qualification
Strong organisational and leadership abilities with experience supervising groups of children
Excellent communication skills
Passionate about working with children and committed to their development
Patient, adaptable, and able to handle challenging situations with professionalism
Organised with the ability to plan activities that are both fun and educational
Knowledge of child safeguarding policies and procedures

Hours of work

22 hours a week, with 20 hours within the setting between 2.30 and 5.30pm, 2 hours of paperwork time which can be taken at a suitable time for the candidate.
22 hours a week in School Holidays - these hours will be between 7.30am and 5.30pm additional hours are desirable in the School Holidays and will be paid accordingly

Pay: £17.00 per hour
