Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and organised Legal Cashier to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounts, and supporting the legal firm's financial operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in accounting and experience from a legal services background. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity. The right applicant will have experience of the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Responsibilities

Office Account:

· Collation of purchase invoices / seeking approval where required / processing payment / posting in Tikit

· Collation of expenses claims / seeking approval where required / processing payment / posting in Tikit

· Posting of direct debit / standing order payments from the bank statement

· Reconciliation of bank account

Client Account:

· Daily checking of bank account for amounts receieved / emailing client/FE to acknowledge receipt

· Writing up of cash receipt vouchers / posting in Tikit

· Reporting on client account credit balances / payment of disbursements / take over of funds from

office to client/ posting in Tikit

· Reconciliation of bank account

Billing:

· Collation of fee notes / posting in Tikit

· Reversal of fee notes where errors pre send to client

· Credit notes for reduction in fees / errors post sent to client

Qualifications

· 3+ years’ experience in a finance team of a lawfirm.

· Good knowledge of the Solicitor’s Accounts Rules

· High quality data entry skills

· Strong numeracy and an eye for detail

· Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently

· Ability to work under pressure as and when required

· Conscientious, approachable and enthusiastic

· Confident dealing with senior lawyers, management and clients

· Excellent written and communication skills, analytical thinking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and maintain client confidentiality.

· Excellent telephone and office manner

Salary to be pro rata according to hours/days worked

Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
