Trainee Drainage Engineer
Metro Rod Oxford
Oxfordshire area
Salary £24,000 - £27,000 basic salary plus on-call, overtime and benefits (OTE of average Drainage Engineer post training £40-50K)

Metro Rod work with the likes of Equans, Amey, Aldi, Mitie, Greggs, McDonalds, Wetherspoons and many more in the FM, Social Housing, Property Management, Retail, Industrial and Leisure sectors. The services are provided by over 60 franchisees with geographical coverage across the UK. We’ve been clearing and unblocking drains for more than thirty years and we’re proud of our reputation for quality service and customer satisfaction. Major companies and leading high street names trust us to deal with all their regular drain maintenance and we’ll bring the same high standards of service to tackle your drain blockage.

Within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, is also Willow Pumps and Filta. Two expanding businesses that focus on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions. Together, the brands provide a complete one-stop shop for keeping water and waste flowing.

What does it entail?

Carrying out a range of services associated with the cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of our customers’ drains
Operation of High-Pressure Water Jetting Equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
Carrying out surveys
Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps
Communicate effectively with high profile commercial and domestic clients and Metro Rod Support Centre colleagues to ensure excellent customer service is always provided
Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year. This would be one week in four– variable according to the business needs

What are we looking for?

Previous experience within a hands-on technical/construction role
A keen interest in learning the drainage trade
A motivation for wanting to progress and develop yourself
Have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude
Want to be part of a growing and progressive business
Be willing to work some unsociable hours
Physically fit and able to do a manual role
Full UK driving licence & own transport
