Team Manager (Learning Disabilities) - Required for Dynamic and Progressive Organisation

The successful candidate will:

Hold a Level 3 NVQ/QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), with substantial experience in a leadership or management role within adult social care.
Have a minimum of two years' experience managing services supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs, and behaviours that challenge.
Hold a full UK manual driving licence.

Expectations for the job role

Remain up to date with current legislation, thinking and theory in relation to professional conduct and practice, and ensure that support workers in the service are familiar with these.
To ensure that services for all Supported Persons reflect a person centred approach and that each Supported Person has a Person Centred Plan (PCP) and to ensure that each service provides opportunities for Supported Person’s to exercise determination and choice and participate in the life of a wider community
To support the assessment, planning, co-ordination and implementation of the delivery of services to Supported Persons, ensuring that their personal, physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs are met. Ensuring that all schedules, routines, appointments implemented for Supported People are evaluated and amended as deemed necessary. To ensure there is a range of leisure and development activities provided for all Supported Person’s, regardless of physical or cognitive impairment or exhibition of challenging behaviour
Together with the Area Manager ensure that each service is maintained in good repair, and liaise with appropriate personnel who have responsibility for carrying out such work.
To be fully involved alongside the Positive Behaviour Support Team to design, implement and evaluate Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Risk Assessment and Management Plans (RAMPS) for each Supported Person, including transition documentation, which requires regular review.
To ensure that all Supported Persons have periodic health appointments (e.g. dentistry, chiropody, optician, psychiatry, psychology, GP, etc.) add too HAP- Food, diet, hydration, annual health review. Staff survey on food in service- monitoring systems in place. Person centred, religion, dietary, financial needs incorporated.

People Management

Maintain rotas and ensure rotas are completed satisfactorily to comply with Commissioning Council’s contractual agreements and that any changes due to sickness or absence are recorded and overtime is kept to the necessary minimum.
To Support the Area Manager in ensuring that all staff vacancies are filled satisfactorily in line with policies and procedures, as well as national and local legislation. Provide support to head office with interviewing / trial shifts and to have regular communication with the recruitment manager, regarding staffing levels or any amendments and changes pending to the staff teams they are responsible for.
Work with the Area Manager to ensure new staff complete initial mandatory eLearning within 2 weeks of start and all new staff complete care certificate in timely manner.
To ensure that all staff adhere to their job description and that any failings by staff in work practice are immediately challenged and rectified. When requested, to take a supporting role in the disciplinary/grievance process for any staff member, supported by the Area Manager, Registered Manager and the HR Manager and Directors, to ensure that any disciplinary/grievance action is carried out as described in the relevant policies and procedures.
