Be part of the movement to transform plastic waste into the future of building material.
Circular11 is a fast-growing climate-tech startup on a mission to radically increase plastic recycling rates and reduce the carbon footprint of the built environment. We recycle low-value, hard-to-recycle plastic into high-performance building materials — keeping waste out of landfill and reducing the need for virgin materials.
As we scale our operations, we're looking for a Workshop Assistant / Extrusion Assistant to join our Christchurch team and support our innovative manufacturing process.
What You’ll Do:
As an Extrusion Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in our plastic production line, helping to keep operations running smoothly and safely. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting extrusion machine operators with setup and operation
- Loading polymers and additives into hoppers to ensure smooth material flow
- Monitoring the extrusion line for jams, blockages, or quality issues
- Performing basic inspections (e.g., checking product finish and measurements)
- Collecting, stacking, and labelling finished products for dispatch
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe work area
- Following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday (optional overtime available on weekends).
- Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm x1

Career Growth:
At Circular11, we believe in investing in our people. Once you’ve completed your initial training, you’ll have opportunities to move into a Workshop lead - Senior Production Operative role — and beyond. We are looking to scale into a bigger facility by the end of the year which will create many new roles that you could move into. We’re a small, ambitious team, so there are real pathways to progress in production, engineering, material handling, team management, R&D, logistics and much more.
