What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
- Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
- Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
- Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
- Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
- Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.
What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

We are looking for a Dispensing Optician to join us in our Christchurch practice!
This position is full time however, we are open to discussion around part-time hours, so would still encourage an application if you are looking for a part-time role; the typical working pattern is alternate full weekends (Saturday & Sunday) however, we are open to a conversation around days / weekend working arrangements.
This practice is freestanding, with one testing room – it is a smaller yet busy practice, positioned along a busy part of the high-street in the centre of town with plenty of walk in business.
This practice offers great local transport links in addition to lots of affordable local parking!
