About the role

At Bidfood, we know that great service starts with great stock control.

As a Stock Team Manager, you'll lead a team responsible for stock accuracy, availability and compliance, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time for our customers.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work closely with warehouse, transport and operational teams to improve performance, reduce stock loss and drive continuous improvement across the depot.

If you're an experienced people manager with a background in stock control, inventory management, warehousing or logistics, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Leading and developing a team to deliver safe, accurate and efficient stock operations.
Managing stock accuracy through perpetual inventory (PI) counts and stock investigations.
Monitoring stock loss, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions.
Ensuring date-sensitive stock is managed effectively to maximise availability and minimise waste.
Investigating credits, stock discrepancies and root causes to improve processes.
Maintaining compliance with company, quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
Working collaboratively with warehouse, transport and operational teams to improve performance.
Managing stock-related systems, reporting and administration to ensure accurate records.
Coaching and developing colleagues through regular one-to-ones, objective setting and performance reviews.
Driving a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and teamwork.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a motivated and organised leader who can drive high standards while supporting and developing their team.

Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, warehousing or logistics.
Experience leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Confidence using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive approach with a focus on accuracy, service and continuous improvement.
Experience investigating stock discrepancies and implementing solutions would be advantageous.
The ability to build effective working relationships across multiple departments.
