Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced K9 Dog Handler to join our security team for night shift operations. This role involves working overnight hours to ensure the safety and security of premises through specialised canine detection and patrol skills. The successful candidate will play a vital role in surveillance, loss prevention, and maintaining a secure environment using their expertise with trained dogs. Prior experience in security or law enforcement is advantageous, alongside a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.
Duties
- Conduct night-time patrols of designated premises using trained K9 units to deter unauthorised access and criminal activity
- Utilise surveillance tools such as CCTV systems to monitor activity and identify potential threats or breaches
- Perform loss prevention activities by inspecting for theft or unauthorised removal of property
- Respond promptly to security alarms or incidents, including providing first aid if necessary
- Assist in conducting searches for contraband, missing persons, or suspicious items using canine detection skills
- Maintain detailed records of patrols, incidents, and canine activities for reporting purposes
- Ensure the proper care, handling, and training reinforcement of the K9 unit to optimise performance and safety
Requirements
- Proven experience as a K9 Dog Handler, preferably within security, law enforcement, or related fields
- Knowledge of surveillance techniques, CCTV operation, and loss prevention strategies
- Certification or training in first aid is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently during night shifts in a vigilant and professional manner
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Must be physically fit with the capability to handle dogs during patrols and searches effectively
- Flexibility to work night shifts on a regular basis; previous experience working overnight is advantageous
Pay: £17.00 per hour
