Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and strategic Finance and Administration General Manager to lead our operations and administrative functions. This key role involves planning resources and deliver cost effective and efficient support services to the members of the Club, making optimum use of modern methods and technology.
To have executive responsibility for the running of the administration of the Club, the course and premises, within the contents of the business plan and approved budget.
To be responsible for all staff in the Club, including Assistant Secretary, green staff, bar staff, catering staff, maintenance/cleaning staff and franchise operators, and be familiar with all relevant H.R. Legislation
Responsibilities
- Manage the financial affairs of the Golf Club/Company in liaison with The Finance Director and Chairman.
- Maintain all internal databases including membership and members’ financial records.
- Serve as Company Secretary with associated regulatory responsibilities.
- Take responsibility for all core administrative tasks, including HR functions, compliance with statutory obligations, data protection, health and safety and equality issues.
- Attend all Board and general meetings and record minutes.
- Monitor premises condition and implement appropriate maintenance, repairs and renewals in accordance with Company policy.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong and experienced financial manager with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Disciplined time-manager with excellent organisational and administrative capabilities.
- Sound business acumen including a clear understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with legislation under a corporate structure.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office programmes with a good understanding of business financial management software and other core IT skills.
- Competent people manager.
- An understanding of marketing dynamics.
- Flexible approach to working hours and days.
- Appreciation of golf and its traditions in a private members Club (desirable but not essential).
