About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Supervisor to join our team in Telford. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of site equipment while leading and developing a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities
As Engineering Supervisor, you will:
- Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day production engineering requirements.
- Allocate engineering resources effectively based on skills and operational priorities.
- Lead engineering shift communications, daily meetings, and team handovers.
- Ensure downtime escalation processes are followed and managed appropriately.
- Plan and manage engineering workload through the CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System), ensuring KPI and compliance targets are achieved.
- Support the Engineering Manager with training plans, skills gap analysis, and team development.
- Conduct regular one to one meetings and performance reviews with engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support asset management activities.
- Assist with spare parts management, stock control, and identification of critical spares.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations on significant equipment failures.
- Promote a proactive maintenance culture across the engineering team.
- Ensure engineering workshops, plant rooms, PPE, and housekeeping standards remain audit-ready.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to build effective working relationships.
- Provide engineering leadership support to the wider site when required.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Recognised Electrical Engineering Qualification
- Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
- Strong understanding of engineering maintenance systems (CMMS)
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Show a strong commitment to health, safety and compliance standards
- Reliable, flexible and able to prioritise workloads effectively
Desirable
- Previous experience within food manufacturing or abattoir environments
- Experience leading a small team of engineers
- Knowledge of food safety and animal welfare standards
- 18th Edition Qualification
