Senior Bid & Tender Manager
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire (Office-Based)
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum (DOE) + Performance Bonus
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

We are now looking to appoint an experienced senior bid & tender manager to lead all tendering and procurement activity across the business.
The Opportunity
This is a senior role reporting directly to the managing director and directors.
You will be responsible for identifying, managing, writing and submitting tender opportunities from start to finish.
Your objective is simple:
Win contracts.
You will take ownership of the entire bid process, from opportunity identification through to contract award.
This is an opportunity to build and lead the bid function within a growing business that is actively investing in long-term contract growth.
Key Responsibilities Tender Identification
- Monitor all major procurement portals daily
- Identify relevant opportunities
- Maintain a live tender pipeline
- Assess bid suitability and win probability
- Track upcoming contract renewals and opportunities
Bid Management
- Manage the complete tender lifecycle
- Coordinate internal stakeholders
- Develop bid plans and submission schedules
- Ensure all deadlines are met
- Manage clarification questions and responses
Bid Writing
- Write compelling tender responses
- Prepare method statements
- Complete SQs, ITTs, RFQs, DPS applications and framework submissions
- Tailor responses to client requirements
- Maintain and improve the company's bid library
Framework & Procurement Management
- Secure places on relevant frameworks
- Maintain framework memberships
- Monitor framework opportunities
- Manage procurement registrations
Contract Growth Strategy
- Work with Directors to identify growth opportunities
- Research target sectors
- Develop tender-winning strategies
- Improve win rates and bid quality
Reporting
Provide monthly reports on:
- Opportunities identified
- Bids submitted
- Contracts won
- Pipeline value
- Win rate
- Upcoming opportunities
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience within bid management, tender management or proposal management.
- Proven track record of winning contracts.
- Experience managing public sector procurement processes.
- Strong bid writing and commercial skills.
- Experience with procurement portals.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Exceptional written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple live tenders simultaneously.
