Job Summary
Honeywagon Co is looking for a hands-on Cleaning Manager to lead our cleaning team across our film and television facilities operation.
You will organise staff, manage cleaning schedules, monitor stock and maintain high standards across our fleet of mobile production facilities.
This is not a desk-based management role.
Honeywagon Co runs with a flat management structure, and everyone helps where needed. You will be expected to lead the team while also working alongside them during busy periods.
You will also support the day-to-day running of the department with basic office administration, staff paperwork and internal scheduling.
Film and TV work can change at short notice, so you must be organised, flexible and comfortable managing changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead, organise and support the cleaning team.
- Plan daily workloads, cleaning schedules and staff rotas.
- Allocate staff across the yard, fleet and production locations.
- Adjust schedules when filming plans or operational requirements change.
- Work alongside the cleaning team when required.
- Check completed work and maintain consistent cleaning standards.
- Prepare facilities before they leave the yard.
- Inspect facilities when they return from production.
- Make sure facilities are cleaned, restocked and ready for the next job.
- Manage cleaning products, equipment, PPE, linen and consumables.
- Maintain accurate stock records.
- Order supplies before stock runs low.
- Complete timesheets, cleaning records and staff paperwork.
- Respond to emails and update internal schedules.
- Manage holidays, sickness and last-minute staff cover.
- Train new cleaning staff.
- Support staff performance and attendance discussions.
- Report faults, damage and missing items to the operations team.
- Follow COSHH, health and safety and waste-handling procedures.
- Attend filming locations when extra support or quality checks are required.
- Work closely with the operations, transport and yard teams.
Experience
You will be practical, organised and comfortable leading from the front.
You must be willing to get involved in the cleaning work yourself rather than simply supervising from the side.
You should be confident giving instructions, setting standards and dealing with problems when they arise.
- Previous experience supervising or managing a cleaning team.
- Experience organising rotas and daily workloads.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and people-management skills.
- Confidence addressing poor standards or incomplete work.
- Ability to manage several priorities at the same time.
- Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets and digital calendars.
- Comfortable completing basic office administration.
- Able to carry out physical cleaning duties.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Able to travel to production locations when required.
- Available for regular weekend work.
- Comfortable with early starts and occasional late finishes.
Working pattern
Weekend working is a regular requirement of this role due to the operational needs of film and television productions.
Weekend shifts will form part of the staff rota and may include early starts and occasional late finishes.
Flexibility is required, particularly during busy production periods.
