ASC Metals are a leading metal supply and distribution company serving customers across a wide range of industrial and manufacturing sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking reliable and motivated Warehouse Operatives to join our busy operations team.
This is a hands-on role offering exposure to warehouse operations, stock management, logistics, and metal processing. The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, processing, and dispatch of metal products while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers
- Working and setting fixed position cutting saws
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ESP to ensure accurate inventory records
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with company standards
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain product integrity and safety standards
- Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance or troubleshooting as required
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times
- Assisting with load and unload activities, adhering to health and safety regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in warehousing or logistics environments is desirable
- Strong knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Proficiency in operating forklift trucks (licence required)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) ESP for stock control and order processing
- Experience with shipping & receiving operations
- Ability to perform picking & packing tasks accurately under time constraints
- Competence in stocking shelves efficiently while maintaining organisation standards
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance or troubleshooting
- Attention to detail for quality control checks
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Understanding of mesurements - metric and imperial

Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 17:30
Friday 8:00 - 1700
1 Hour Lunch
