About Padel Up
Padel Up is one of the UK's fastest growing premium sports, fitness and wellness businesses.
We're redefining what a modern sports club looks like by combining world-class indoor padel with premium fitness, wellness and hospitality experiences. Our clubs feature indoor padel, REFORM Pilates, HYROX training, recovery facilities, cafés and social spaces, creating destinations where people come to play, train, recover and connect.
Having grown rapidly, we're continuing to expand across the UK with ambitious long-term plans. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of its journey and become part of a team building one of the UK's leading premium sports and wellness brands.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to build and lead our finance function.
Working directly with the founders, you'll play a key role in shaping the financial future of the business, supporting strategic decision-making and helping drive our continued expansion.
This is far more than a traditional Finance Manager role. We're looking for someone who enjoys improving businesses, not just reporting on them. You'll have the opportunity to influence commercial decisions, improve systems, strengthen financial controls and help build the financial foundations of a rapidly growing company.
Alongside supporting the Padel Up group, you'll also provide financial support to our partner company, Rockland Homes Group, giving you exposure to both a high-growth leisure business and property development projects.
As Padel Up continues to grow, so too will this role. We're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with the business and grow into a senior finance leadership position as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the finance function across the Padel Up group.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Manage bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and financial records.
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and monitor cash across the business.
- Produce annual budgets and regular financial forecasts.
- Analyse club performance, profitability and key business KPIs.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Oversee supplier payments and financial administration.
- Work alongside our external accountants on VAT, payroll, statutory accounts and year-end reporting.
- Support banking relationships, funding applications and future expansion projects.
- Develop and improve financial systems, reporting and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with all financial and statutory obligations.
- Provide financial support to selected projects within Rockland Homes Group.
- Support the directors with commercial analysis and strategic decision-making.
About You
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, ambitious and excited by the opportunity to help build a growing business.
You'll enjoy taking ownership, improving processes and working closely with business leaders to make better commercial decisions.
Ideally you'll have:
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification, or be qualified by experience.
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar senior finance role.
- Strong experience producing management accounts, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience working within a growing SME or multi-site business.
- Strong commercial awareness with the confidence to challenge, recommend improvements and influence decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- A proactive, organised and hands-on approach.
Experience within hospitality, leisure, fitness, retail, construction or property would be advantageous but isn't essential.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of £45,000 to £55,000, depending on experience.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Company pension.
- Free on-site parking.
- Free use of Padel Up's premium facilities, including padel courts, REFORM Pilates and recovery facilities.
- The opportunity to build and lead the finance function within one of the UK's fastest growing premium sports and wellness businesses.
- Exposure to both a high-growth leisure business and property development projects.
- A role where your responsibilities, influence and career can grow alongside the business.
- Clear opportunities for progression into a senior finance leadership role as the company continues to expand.
- The chance to work directly with the founders and have a genuine impact on the future direction and success of the business.
