Job description
The City of Lincoln Council isn’t like any other council. In this rewarding and challenging role, you will provide a pro-active and dedicated service to those with a history of rough sleeping, in both temporary accommodation and / or once housed, giving timely advice and assistance to encourage and promote licence and / or tenancy sustainability.

Key responsibilities:

Provide an efficient and effective housing options and advice service to rough sleepers or persons at risk of rough sleeping, focussed on preventing homelessness where possible.
Effectively allocate funds from the Rough Sleeper Prevention Fund to assist people off the streets into accommodation.
To reconnect rough sleepers to the area where they can safely return to.
To undertake outreach sessions at local prisons, hospitals, supported and emergency accommodation in order to prevent rough sleeping.
To liaise with accommodation providers to ensure best use of supported and emergency accommodation in the city.
Advise and assist in the administration of the Housing Register.
Effectively manage a caseload of housing advice, homelessness prevention and homelessness cases.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Experience of working with a range of professional workers in the delivery of services.
Ability to successfully negotiate.
Ability to work outside normal working hours.
GCSE English and Maths to minimum Grade C or equivalent qualification and / or experience.
Experience of working with a wide range of vulnerable groups and achieving successful outcomes for them.
Ability to use own initiative to make timely decisions.
Working knowledge of current homelessness legislation.
Working knowledge of successfully dealing with rough sleeping, working in the voluntary sector and / or in a homeless context with vulnerable people.
