What Can You Expect?
You would be joining us in the role of Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA), delivering a vital service to our patients. Being a ACA is so much more than just driving. Its about providing safe, reliable and friendly transport to vulnerable patients who need it the most.
Its a role that requires patience, empathy and resilience as, whilst the role is incredibly rewarding, it can be physically and emotionally demanding. We currently have one full-time role working 40.25 hours per week on a shift pattern. The 40.25-hour position follows a 4on/4off rota.
Summary Of Main Duties Include:

Patient Transport & Care - Safely drive patients to and from healthcare appointments while providing reassurance, support, and compassionate care throughout their journey.

Assisting with Mobility - Helping patients with mobility needs, including safe lifting, use of specialist equipment, and transferring patients to and from vehicles or their homes.

Communication & Compassion - Communicating clearly and kindly with patients, families, and healthcare staff, maintaining dignity, respect, and patient confidentiality at all times.

Vehicle Checks & Basic Administration- Carrying out daily vehicle checks, keeping all equipment clean and ready in line with Infection Prevention and Control procedures, and ensuring that any incidents and/or journey details are accurately recorded as required.
