Do you enjoy organising complex schedules, solving problems and keeping essential services running smoothly? As a Transport Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in ensuring life-saving blood and blood products are delivered to hospitals when and where they're needed. Working at the heart of our Transport and Logistics team, you'll coordinate daily transport activities, manage driver rotas, monitor courier usage, maintain accurate records and act as a key link between transport operations, hospital services and external providers. Using a range of digital systems and planning tools, you'll help maximise the use of resources, support excellent customer service and ensure deliveries reach patients safely and on time. Coordinate the daily allocation of deliveries and collections for blood and associated products, helping to ensure hospitals receive products safely and on time.

Act as a key link between Transport, Hospital Services and external providers, building effective working relationships and supporting excellent customer service.

Manage courier activity and support the efficient use of transport resources, helping to deliver a high-quality service while maintaining cost effectiveness.

Use Transport Management Systems (TMS) and other digital tools to maintain records, process data, manage driver rotas and support transport planning activities.

Monitor and manage service issues and complaints relating to third-party carriers, ensuring they are investigated and resolved within agreed timescales.

Support the day-to-day administration of the transport operation, including maintaining databases, records, training information and operational documentation.

Assist with the coordination of drivers, vehicles and resources to maximise operational efficiency and service delivery.

Monitor departmental supplies and resources, ensuring stock levels are maintained and records are accurately managed.

Support training and development activities by maintaining training records and assisting with the onboarding and development of transport colleagues.

Contribute to maintaining quality, safety and compliance standards, ensuring procedures and documentation are completed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.
You may be required to participate in a rostered variable working shift pattern that can include 24/7 working.
Experience and Knowledge

Customer service experience.

Excellent geographical knowledge of the National Road network.

Ability to maintain records.

Ability to understand Digital and IT systems i.e. Pulse/Q-Pulse TMS
Qualifications and Training

Diploma in Transport & Logistics or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Diploma in Supervisory Management or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Willingness to undertake development and training as required.

Good standard of general education.
