About the role
C4 Logistics is one of Europe's leading emergency and time-critical transport providers, moving high-value and urgent freight across the UK and mainland Europe by road and air.
We're hiring an experienced European Road Freight Operator to join our expedited operations desk.
This is a live, fast-moving forwarding role, not a warehousing or transport admin position. You'll be quoting, buying, and running your own shipments end-to-end, working directly with clients and our subcontracted carrier network across Europe. What you'll do
- Handle inbound customer enquiries by phone and email for dedicated, part load, full load, and expedited shipments across Europe and the UK
- Source capacity and negotiate rates with our European subcontractor network
- Quote, book, and manage shipments end-to-end, including documentation, customs coordination, and status updates
What we're looking for
- 2+ years in a European road freight forwarding role. You will have quoted, booked, and managed European road shipments before, and you know your way around FTL, part loads, and groupage
- Working knowledge of UK and EU customs processes, Incoterms, and standard forwarding documentation
- Confidence negotiating rates with carriers and communicating clearly with clients under pressure
- Comfortable working at pace on multiple live shipments
Shift pattern
Because expedited freight doesn't run 9–5, this role operates a two-week rotating pattern: Week 1: Mon–Fri, 07:00–16:00. Week 2: Mon–Fri, 10:00–19:00. No weekends, no on-call.
