HB Tuition Ltd is looking for an exceptional English Tutor & After-School Club Leader to join our friendly, family-run team.
This is a fixed-term, term-time-only position, ideal for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys helping children build confidence, develop new skills and achieve their full potential.
The role combines one-to-one English tuition with the delivery of engaging after-school clubs in local primary schools, making it a varied and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate.

Contract Details
- Fixed-Term Contract
- Start Date: 1st September 2026
- End Date: 21st July 2027
- Term-Time Only (39 weeks per year)
- Approximately 8–12 hours per week
- Primarily afternoons and evenings
- Opportunity for contract renewal subject to business needs and performance
The Role
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality 1:1 English tuition sessions.
- Planning and leading engaging after-school clubs within local primary schools.
- Creating tailored learning plans to meet individual student needs.
- Supporting students to improve their confidence, skills and academic performance.
- Building positive relationships with students, parents and school staff.
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback where appropriate.
- Working closely with the HB Tuition management team.
- Attending occasional tutor meetings and training sessions.
Availability
We are particularly interested in candidates who are available to support our growing after-school club programme.
Availability on one or more of the following afternoons is desirable:
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
- Friday
After-school clubs typically run between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, with tuition sessions taking place before or after club delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Strong English subject knowledge.
- Educated within the British education system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- Reliable, organised and professional.
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in English, Education or a related subject.
- Previous tutoring, teaching or classroom experience.
- Experience working with primary-aged children.
- Experience delivering group learning sessions, workshops or clubs.
- Knowledge of SATs, 11+ preparation or GCSE English.
