The Industrial Designer will actively support the creative direction, innovation and passenger experience vision for TAS. This role combines creative vision with engineering awareness to deliver high-performance, user-focused, and regulatory-compliant design solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining product aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, and manufacturability within a highly regulated aerospace environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of aerospace components, interiors, or systems from concept through to production.
- Produce high-quality 2D and 3D CAD designs, models, and technical drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams.
- Conduct research into materials, emerging technologies, and manufacturing methods to enhance product performance.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and validation processes.
- Support prototyping, testing, and iteration of designs, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Consider sustainability, weight reduction, and cost efficiency in all design outputs.

Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Design, Product Design, Aerospace
- Proven experience in industrial design, ideally within aerospace, automotive, or other high-spec regulated industries.
- Experience working with CAD tools and delivering designs to manufacturing stage
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
- Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace.
- Knowledge of aerospace compliance and certification requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Creative mindset with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated, deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Desirable
- Experience in aerospace cabin interiors, structures, or systems design.
- Knowledge of certification processes (EASA/FAA/CAA). Experience with lightweight materials and composites.
- Chartered status or working towards (e.g., IED, IMechE).
