Lighting Maker – Restoration & Assembly

Salary: National Minimum/Living Wage to start, with regular pay reviews as you develop your skills and experience.
About Us
We are a small, friendly team based in Ninfield, East Sussex, designing, restoring and manufacturing high-end decorative lighting for customers across the UK and around the world. Our work ranges from handcrafted wall lights to luxury table lamps and chandeliers, with every piece carefully assembled and finished by hand.
We're looking for a practical, enthusiastic person to join our workshop and learn the specialist skills involved in creating and restoring beautiful lighting.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on workshop role where no two days are the same. You'll receive full training while working alongside our experienced team, learning how to assemble, restore and rewire decorative lighting to a high standard.
You'll work on table lamps, wall lights and chandeliers, including converting fittings from UK wiring to US wiring for our international customers.
No previous electrical experience is required. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, good practical ability and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assembling and restoring decorative lighting
- Rewiring table lamps, wall lights and chandeliers
- Converting lighting from UK wiring to US wiring
- Fitting lamp holders, switches, cable and electrical components
- Testing finished products and carrying out quality checks
- Packing completed orders for dispatch
- Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe
- Working as part of a small, friendly team to produce high-quality lighting
What We're Looking For
- A practical, hands-on person who enjoys making and repairing things
- Good attention to detail and pride in your work
- Reliable, punctual and eager to learn
- Comfortable using basic hand tools or willing to learn
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Experience in assembly, manufacturing or workshop work
- Experience using hand tools
- An interest in electrical work, restoration, engineering or craftsmanship
- Experience with lighting, furniture restoration, mechanics, model making or similar practical hobbies
