About Oakfield
At Oakfield, we are a forward-thinking business built around a simple philosophy: people, not property. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and building long-term relationships with our clients.
As a growing company, we are continually evolving and investing in our teams, systems, and processes. This is an exciting time to join us, and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to develop a career in property management while growing with us.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Property Manager to join our Block Management team based in St Leonards-on-Sea.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in property management. Previous block management experience is not essential — we are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong communication and organisational skills, and a genuine willingness to learn.
Working alongside experienced Property Managers, you will receive hands-on training and support to develop your knowledge of residential block management. As your experience and confidence grow, you will take on increasing responsibility for properties and clients, with the aim of progressing into a Property Manager role and managing your own portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Property Managers with the day-to-day management of residential developments
- Help coordinate maintenance works and repairs, liaising with contractors from instruction through to completion
- Obtain quotations, raise works instructions, and follow up on outstanding works
- Develop an understanding of residential leases, leasehold management, health & safety requirements, and relevant legislation
- Assist with and, as your experience develops, carry out site inspections to ensure developments are well maintained
- Maintain accurate property and client records using our internal systems
- Manage and prioritise your workload effectively while supporting the wider Block Management team
- Take an active role in your training and professional development as you work towards managing your own portfolio
About You
You do not need to be an experienced Property Manager to succeed in this role. We are looking for someone with the right mindset and the potential to develop.
You will ideally be:
- Enthusiastic about building a long-term career in property management
- Proactive, organised, and willing to take ownership of tasks
- A confident communicator with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Comfortable speaking with clients, residents, and contractors by phone, email, and in person
- Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy working environment
- A practical problem-solver with good attention to detail
- Positive, approachable, and team-focused
- Keen to learn and develop your knowledge of block and leasehold management
- Confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office
- A full UK driving licence holder
Previous experience in property, lettings, estate agency, customer service, administration, facilities management, or a similar environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary plus bonuses
- Full training and ongoing support from experienced Property Managers
- A clear opportunity to progress into a Property Manager role
- Ongoing professional development and industry training
- Supportive and collaborative team environment
- Career progression within a growing department and business
