We’re looking for a Lab Technician to join our friendly team based in Crediton. You will be integral in driving Quality Culture and ensuring a high level of technical integrity is maintained in relation to product safety, legality, and quality.
This role follows a 4-on-4-off shift pattern of rotating days and nights (12 hours). Some flexibility to cover night shifts will be required.
Lab Technician Responsibilities
- Provide a testing, QC service within the production function, ensuring all standards are adhered to, and escalated to the appropriate person if issues arise
- Carry out daily sampling and testing routines alongside Production and record appropriately
- Review retained reference samples, reporting on quality before confirming release of finished products
- Monitor operations carried out by production staff in compliance with site standards
- Ensure calibration, hygiene and workplace organisation standards are met and sustained throughout the business

- Carry out product positive release duties to ensure timely release of products on completion of satisfactory testing
Lab Technician Requirements
- Previous experience in a product testing environment with knowledge of working within a Quality Management System
- Trained in Laboratory testing duties
- Experienced with pack integrity procedures
- Food Technology or Technical qualifications (desirable)
- IT skills to include Microsoft Office packages
- Strong numeracy skills – GCSE (or equivalent) Maths
- Strong co-ordination, planning & organisational skills and ability to work within time constraints
- Problem solving and analytical skills

Pay: £37,672.44 per year
