Belmont House is looking for a kind, creative and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator to join our team.
We are an elderly residential home that prides itself on providing person-centred care in a warm, homely and supportive environment. We are looking for someone who can bring energy, imagination and heart to our residents’ day-to-day lives.
This role is about much more than simply “putting on activities”. We are looking for someone who can get to know our residents as individuals, understand their likes, dislikes, hobbies, histories and abilities, and help create meaningful activities that bring enjoyment, connection and purpose.
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, organising and delivering a varied programme of activities within the home. This may include arts and crafts, music, games, gentle exercise, reminiscence activities, seasonal events, one-to-one time, group activities and new ideas that help keep life at Belmont House interesting and engaging.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Creative, enthusiastic and full of ideas.
- Kind, patient and caring.
- Confident engaging with elderly residents, including those living with dementia or additional needs.
- Able to encourage participation while respecting residents’ choices.
- Organised and able to plan activities in advance.
- Flexible and happy to work as part of a wider team.
- Able to help develop new activities and bring fresh ideas into the home.
- Comfortable working every other weekend as part of the rota.
Experience in care or activities would be beneficial, but the right attitude, warmth and creativity are just as important.
The role will include keeping activity records, supporting residents to take part in activities safely, helping with special events and working alongside the care team to promote wellbeing, dignity and independence.
An Enhanced DBS check and suitable references will be required.
If you are someone who enjoys making a difference, bringing smiles to others and creating moments that matter, we would love to hear from you.
