Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with various accounting tasks. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of accounting software to develop their skills within a professional environment. The position is paid and suitable for candidates eager to contribute to efficient financial management.

Responsibilities

Managing accounts payable processes, including processing invoices and ensuring timely payments
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies promptly
Maintaining accurate financial records using recognised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Assisting with data entry and updating financial information in the system
Supporting month-end closing activities and preparing relevant reports
Organising and filing financial documents in accordance with company policies
Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations
Assisting in the preparation of basic financial reports and summaries as required

Experience

Previous experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is highly desirable
Familiarity with accounts payable processes and basic bookkeeping principles
Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Prior experience in a similar administrative or finance role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
