Oxfordshire Adult Learning is seeking a talented and enthusiasticTextiles Lecturer to deliver engaging and inspiring courses to adult learners across the county.
This is an exciting opportunity to support adults of all backgrounds and abilities to develop their creativity, confidence and practical textile skills in a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
As a Lecturer, you will plan and deliver high-quality textiles courses at a range of Oxfordshire Adult Learning venues across Oxfordshire. You will teach diverse groups of adult learners, creating an inspiring and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, achievement and progression.

- Upcycling and sustainable textiles
- Mixed-media textile art
- Seasonal and themed textile projects

- Prepare creative learning resources to support learner development and achievement.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of learners with a wide range of abilities and experience levels.

About You:

Strong practical skills and experience in textiles, sewing or related creative disciplines.
- Passionate about sharing their knowledge and inspiring adult learners.
- Qualified to degree-level or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- Qualified teacher, or is willing to work towards qualification.
- Experience of teaching or training within the subject area.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has a commitment to learner success and inclusive practice.
Experience of teaching within adult or post-16 education would be an advantage.

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction (must be completed within probation), followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET) including Assessor is required, and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Completion of this structured learning programme is expected within 3 years. Furthermore, there is the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Learning Status (QTLS).
