Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire Extinguisher Technician to carry out inspection, servicing, maintenance, and compliance checks in accordance with BS 5306‑3:2017. The role is field‑based, covering customer sites across Edinburgh and the surrounding area, with a strong emphasis on delivering high‑quality compliance work, accurate reporting, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and inspection of portable fire extinguishers in line with BS 5306‑3:2017.
Ensure all equipment is compliant, correctly sited, and fit for purpose.
Produce accurate service reports, certificates, and compliance documentation.
Identify non‑compliance issues and provide clear recommendations to clients.
Maintain company equipment, tools, and stock to required standards.
Manage daily schedules efficiently across the Edinburgh territory.
Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and reliability.
Adhere to all health & safety requirements and company procedures.

Essential Experience & Skills

Proven experience as a Fire Extinguisher Technician (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
Strong working knowledge of BS 5306‑3:2017 and related fire safety standards.
Competent in servicing all major extinguisher types.
Excellent understanding of compliance, documentation, and audit requirements.
Full UK driving licence.
Strong communication and customer‑facing skills.
Ability to work independently, manage workload, and maintain high standards of accuracy.

Desirable

FIA, BAFE, or equivalent fire safety qualifications.
Experience working with commercial, industrial, or multi‑site clients.
Knowledge of additional fire safety systems (alarms, emergency lighting, signage).
