We are now looking for a Contracts Coordinator to join our team in Cupar. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career in a fast-paced, commercial environment within the rural sector.
About the role
As a Contracts Coordinator, you will work with both agricultural and non-agricultural businesses, facilitating the purchase, sale, and distribution of agricultural products and services. You will play a key role in delivering excellent service, providing expert advice, and supporting our members to meet their business needs.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across our offices, contributing to a team-focused environment and providing support where required
What you’ll be doing
- Facilitate the purchase, sale and distribution of agricultural inputs and outputs
- Source and arrange haulage for a range of goods
- Negotiate the best prices for members and monitor markets, identifying new opportunities and risks
- Respond to member enquiries via phone, email and in person
- Build strong relationships with members, suppliers and colleagues
- Ensure member satisfaction while increasing engagement and sourcing new members
- Support coordination of temporary workers/labour
- Accurately record bookings and enquiries using our internal systems
- Adopt a flexible approach to working hours to ensure consistent level of service during key business times
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused working environment
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone motivated, reliable, resourceful and confident. Previous industry experience is desirable, and knowledge of the local land-based sector advantageous.
You’ll ideally have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
- Commercial awareness and confident negotiation skills
- Previous experience in customer service and/or sales
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- Good IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) with ability to learn quickly
- A resourceful, self-motivated approach, with confidence in managing responsibilities independently and proactively
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- A flexible and adaptable approach
- An interest in or understanding of the agricultural or land-based sector
It would be great if you also have:
- Previous experience in agricultural trading or farm sales (e.g. fertiliser, grain, forage/fodder)
- Experience working with or trading directly with farmers, with a proven ability to develop trusted relationships
- Knowledge of the local agricultural/land-based sector with connections and networks in the area
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own transport
