We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tire Technician to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tyres on a variety of vehicles. Duties
- Remove and replace tyres using appropriate hand and power tools
- Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and proper tread depth
- Balance tyres to ensure smooth vehicle operation
- Perform tyre repairs such as patching or plugging punctures
- Assist with wheel alignment and rotation tasks as required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety standards
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot tyre-related issues effectively
- Operate heavy lifting equipment safely for manoeuvring tyres and wheels of various sizes
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of tyre systems and vehicle components
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and tyre levers
- Experience with power tools including pneumatic guns and drills is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, handling tyres and wheels of substantial weight
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment while maintaining safety standards
