Are you practical, hardworking, and keen to learn a skilled trade? BD Group is looking for a motivated Bricklaying Apprentice to join our team and develop the skills, knowledge, and experience required to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying.
Working alongside experienced professionals across Barking & Dagenham, you'll gain hands-on experience in all aspects of bricklaying while building the foundations for a rewarding career in construction.
Location: Various sites across the Borough, with Head Office based at The Cube, Yew Tree Avenue, Dagenham, RM10 7FN
Reports to: Service Delivery Manager
Duration: Minimum 2-year apprenticeship programme
As a Bricklaying Apprentice, you'll learn the practical skills and techniques required to become a qualified bricklayer while working on live construction and maintenance projects.

Learn how to measure work areas and assist with basic setting out.

Mix mortar safely and correctly.

Lay bricks and blocks under the guidance of experienced operatives.

Measure and cut bricks and blocks (under supervision).
-
Learn how to line, level, and gauge brickwork accurately.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Assist with the protection of completed work and construction materials.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Work effectively with colleagues across different teams and departments.

Minimise material waste and understand the importance of delivering value for money within a publicly funded organisation.

Structured apprenticeship training leading to an NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying.

Hands-on experience working alongside skilled tradespeople.

Industry-recognised qualifications.

Valuable experience within a successful property and facilities services organisation.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Rate of Pay:

Apprenticeship Rate: £8.00 per hour

Age 18–20: £10.85 per hour
