RThe Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting operational and business data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support strategic decision-making. The role focuses on analysing container movements, fleet performance, delivery schedules, customer service metrics, fuel consumption, and financial performance to optimise haulage operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, validate, and analyse operational data from transport management systems (TMS), GPS tracking systems, ERP systems, and spreadsheets.
- Develop dashboards and reports to monitor key operational and financial performance indicators.
- Analyse container turnaround times, delivery performance, vehicle utilisation, and route efficiency.
- Monitor fleet productivity, driver performance, and fuel consumption.
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Support transport planners with route optimisation and resource allocation analysis.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.
- Analyse customer service metrics, including delivery accuracy and on-time performance.
- Evaluate haulage costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as:
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Vehicle Utilisation
- Fleet Availability
- Fuel Efficiency
- Container Dwell Time
- Driver Productivity
- Empty Running Percentage
- Perform ad hoc analysis to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate with operations, finance, customer service, warehouse, and commercial teams.
- Ensure data accuracy and maintain data governance standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation of reports and business processes.
- Prepare presentations and management reports highlighting key business insights.
- Support forecasting and budgeting activities using historical operational data.
- Assist in developing predictive models for demand planning and fleet utilisation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and data protection regulations.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, advanced formulas).
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and querying.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.

Essential
- 2–5 years' experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Operations Analyst.
- Experience working within transport, logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or supply chain environments.
- Experience creating dashboards and management reports.
- Experience analysing operational and financial data.
- Experience using SQL and Power BI.
Desirable

Qualifications
- Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or Supply Chain Management.

- SQL certification.
