Job Type: Full-Time or 3 Days Per Week | Permanent
We are looking for an Electrical Estimator / Junior Electrical Estimator to join our growing team.
We are open to candidates at different levels of experience, from an established Electrical Estimator through to a Junior Estimator with a minimum of 2 years' relevant electrical estimating experience.
We will also consider a qualified electrician who has progressed from working on the tools into an office-based estimating role, providing they have suitable estimating experience and are confident working with computers and estimating software.
The Role
You will be responsible for assisting with and producing accurate, competitive estimates for electrical projects, working from drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing electrical drawings, specifications and tender documents
- Producing electrical take-offs and material schedules
- Preparing project estimates and quotations
- Sending enquiries to suppliers and obtaining project pricing
- Comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identifying products and suitable alternatives against project specifications
- Liaising with suppliers, contractors and customers
- Identifying potential cost savings and value-engineering opportunities
- Maintaining accurate records of quotations and estimates
- Managing multiple enquiries and working to quotation/tender deadlines
- Working closely with the wider team throughout the estimating and quotation process
About You
We are interested in hearing from:
- Experienced Electrical Estimators
- Junior Electrical Estimators with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience
- Qualified electricians who have moved into an office-based estimating role
Candidates must have:
- Previous electrical estimating experience, using electrical estimating software.
- Good knowledge of electrical installations, products and materials
- The ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications
- Good computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other office-based systems
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines
Previous hands-on electrical experience would be beneficial but is not essential for candidates with suitable estimating experience.
